Lotion Making Workshops

How long has it been since you read the label on your favorite lotion?

What do all those ingredients do?

Do you believe all of those claims on the label?

Schedule a Lotion-Making Workshop

Invite your friends, family or community group to join you for a few hours of interactive fun and education!  Explore labels, regulations and the science behind lotions. You will make a lotion and take home samples with fragrances of your choice.  The workshop can be scheduled at any time.

• NWABR will present and provide the equipment and supplies and the workshop will come to you!

• The workshop can be scheduled for 1.5 or 2 hours

• We will come to the location of your choice in the greater Seattle area

• The minimum number of participants is 8, the maximum is 32

• The fee is $15 per person.

Each participant will make 2 containers of lotion to take home!!

The workshop requires tables for the lab (usually 3-4 people per table/"lab station") and a 3-prong outlet for each table since we will use hot plates. A table and outlet for a computer and projector are also needed.

For a four-lesson curriculum, engaging middle and high school students in an investigation of personal care products, see our Consumer Awareness Curriculum. Being an informed consumer requires critical evaluation skills and a basic understanding of science and regulations!
