Life Sciences Research Weekend
NWABR teamed up with Pacific Science Center to co-present the 5th Annual
LIFE SCIENCES RESEARCH WEEKEND
at Pacific Science Center
November 4-6, 2011
Thank you to the researchers and volunteers that made the weekend so successful!
The event showcased the great research and talented scientists in our community and presented engaging activities for visitors of all ages! It was an opportunity for the public to meet real scientists and see the passion that scientists have for the work they do.
Success by the Numbers:
5667 People visited Pacific Science Center over the three days of
Life Sciences Research Weekend
1400 "Lab Notebooks" were handed out to visitors to complete as they engaged with scientists at the activity tables
800+ Volunteer hours were put in during the three day event
287 Volunteers staffed the activity tables
28 Organizations were represented by the activity table hosts and volunteers
23 Institutions presented activity tables – 4 were new participants this year
